FCA Total Athlete Camp: Changed Lives at UCLA
FCA staff partnered with over 90 college athletes and 50 coaches to put on our annual Total Athlete Camp at UCLA. 721 high schoolers from across the country came to get better at their sport and grow in their knowledge of Jesus. Out of those 721 students, 115 surrendered their lives to Christ for the very first time. 260 re-dedicated their lives to Jesus.
God moved in unbelievable ways. The 90 college athletes volunteered their time as huddle leaders to pour into the lives of these young people. Before the campers even arrive, these huddle leaders get trained and equipped to love and teach the campers. Local Santa Barbara athletes, Adriana Nunez (UCSB), Ariel Johnston (Westmont) and Tiffany Dimaculangan (Westmont) served as huddle leaders for the week in women's soccer (see photo top right.)
SB FCA Area Director, Austin Stockfisch, led this fleet of college athletes in their training and devotion to the campers, Campus Director, Kristin Stockfisch, recruited huddle leaders for women's basketball and women's soccer and spoke to the campers night one of program about God's amazing love.
Ryan and Brittany Warner brought Dos Pueblos Coach, Chris Molkoy, to camp for the first time to train the wrestlers, (see Coach Molkoy's spotlight interview here) and several students from local Santa Barbara High Schools. Having a one-month old didn't stop the Warner's from serving at camp and staying in the dorm. God's grace is sufficient!
Praise God for the ways he uses FCA Camp to bring his children home to him!
