To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
Kristin Stockfisch | The people and moments that shaped a campus ministry
An Open Door at Westmont
At Westmont, the women’s soccer coaching staff gave me an open door to care for athletes. They welcomed me into the life of the team, and at times it felt as if I could spend all my time simply ministering to those women. That openness made a lasting difference.
I also think about the student leaders who caught a vision for ministry through the opportunities we shared, even before the internship program grew into what it is today. Some began to see that they loved walking alongside young adults and could imagine serving in ministry themselves. It was encouraging to watch that sense of calling take shape.
Some of my most meaningful memories are personal moments of faith: praying with a student as she chose to follow Jesus, and walking alongside another student as she worked through thoughtful questions about belief. I remember traveling to Uganda with the team and hosting Bethany Hamilton. Each experience gave us a different view of how God was at work—in conversations, in relationships, and beyond campus.
There are far too many Westmont stories to fit into one post. What stays with me is the access coaches gave us, the courage of students who stepped into leadership, and the many ways faith became part of everyday life. I’m grateful for every person who made that ministry possible.
